Usage policy
Legal use only. These rules apply to every model, every plan and every key.
1. The short version
Use The Chinese One for legal work only. If you would not do it in front of a judge, do not do it here.
2. What is banned
- Sexual content of any kind. Anything involving minors is reported to the authorities.
- Illegal use of any kind.
- Attacking or probing systems you do not own, or do not have written permission to test.
- Distributing malware.
- Harassment, threats or hate.
- Infringing other people's rights, such as copyright or trademark.
- Weapons that can cause mass harm (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear).
3. Refusal-free models
Some models in our list are refusal-free. In plain words:
- They answer instead of refusing. The refusal direction is removed from the model.
- They are no smarter than the base model. Same skills, same mistakes.
- They do not decide what is legal. You do, and this policy still applies.
Allowed uses: security work on your own systems, red-teaming your own AI, trust and safety, research, and fiction.
The same rules as in section 2 apply to these models. Nothing is allowed on them that is banned on the others.
4. How we enforce it
- We run abuse checks on requests.
- A blocked request counts as a strike on your key.
- Repeated strikes get the key suspended, and we review it.
- Serious cases (for example anything involving minors) are reported.
5. Upstream providers
The models run on third-party US hosts. Their acceptable-use terms also apply to you, on top of this policy.
6. Your key
You are responsible for your key and for everything done with it. Do not share it. If it leaks, tell us at hello@thechineseone.com [TODO: confirm contact address].
